Austin 2 – RSL 1: Claret and Cobalt unable to avoid away defeat

Austin snatched all three points from Real Salt Lake in a 2-1 victory on Saturday, at Q2 Stadium. As it stands, Austin are in 13th place, with 25 points from 37 matches, while RSL sit in 5th, with 39 points from 37.

Austin started the first half well, thanks to Domínguez finding the net at the 17 minute mark and seeing the first half out 1-0.

Los Verdes started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with Domínguez finding the net again at the 55 minute mark. In the end though, RSL at the 64 minute mark pull-back following a Kreilach goal, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For Austin, Pereira, Nick Lima, Gaines and Redes, came on for Jiménez, Domínguez, Djitte and Pochettino. RSL replaced Everton, Méndez, Menéndez and Chang with Ruiz, Julio, Meram and Herrera.

The referee booked Pereira for Austin.
