Atlanta 1 – NYC 1: Stalemate at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Atlanta were held to 1-1 draw by NYC down on Thursday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Following today’s result, Atlanta are in 5th place, with 43 points from 40 matches, while NYC sit in 7th, with 41 points from 40.

Atlanta started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Moreno at the 17 minute mark. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

NYC took the lead in the second half, with Thórarinsson finding the net just before the final whistle and seeing the game end 1-1.

For Atlanta, Josef Martinez, Franco Ibarra and Amar Sejdic, came on for Torres, Sosa and Luiz Araujo. NYC brought on Thórarinsson, Rodríguez, Zelalem, Talles Magno and Heber, to replace Amundsen, Medina, Morales, Andrade and Parks.

There were bookings for Franco and Robinson from Atlanta. For NYC, Moralez and Sands saw yellow.
