Atlanta 1 – Inter 0: The Herons unable to avoid defeat at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Atlanta United strolled past Inter Miami with a 1-0 win on Thursday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. As the table looks today, Atlanta are currently 6th with 39 points from 36 matches, while Inter sit in 10th, with 32 points from 36.

After a goalless first half, Atlanta applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Josef Martinez giving Atlanta the lead in the 76th minute and seeing the game end 1-0.

For Atlanta, Rossetto, Mulraney, Campbell and Hernández, came on for Moreno, Walkes, Luiz Araujo and Josef Martinez. Inter brought on Brek Shea, Vassilev and Carranza, to replace Gibbs, Matuidi and Robinson.

The referee booked González Pirez, Matuidi, Gibbs and Chapman for Inter.

Inter and Atlanta will next play away to Portland Timbers and Montréal respectively.
