Atlanta 2 – Inter 1- Visitors unable to get win at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Atlanta United beat Inter Miami with a thumping 2-1 victory on Thursday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. As the table looks today, Atlanta are in 5th place on the table and has 46 points while Inter sit in 11th with 38 points after 42 matches.

Inter started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Higuaín giving The Herons the lead at the 32 minute mark, finishing the first half 0-1.

Atlanta continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Luiz Araujo finding the net, at 59 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Josef Martinez made it 2-1 in the 74th minute to make it 2-1.

For Atlanta, Moreno, Torres and Campbell, came on for Walkes, Josef Martinez and Luiz Araujo. Inter brought on Vassilev, Robinson, Higuaín and Carranza, to replace Morgan, Pizarro, Figal and Chapman.

There were bookings for Walkes from Atlanta, and Figal, González Pirez, Chapman, Leerdam and Higuaín, for Inter.
