Milan were defeated at home by Sassuolo at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday. Both Milan and Sassuolo arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Milan were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Genoa at home (2-1), the other to Parma away (3-1) whilst Sassuolo were coming from consecutive wins against Fiorentina and Benevento. As it stands, Milan are in 2nd place on the table and has 66 points while Sassuolo sit in 8th with 49 points after 32 matches.
Rossoneri started the first half well, with Hakan Calhanoglu giving Milan the lead, 30 minutes in to see out the first half 1-0.
Sassuolo continued to pile on the pressure in the second, thanks to Giacomo Raspadori finding the net in the 76th minute. Neroverdi then scored once more and turned the match thanks to a second effort from Giacomo Raspadori at the 83 minute mark with a final score of 2-1.
For Milan, Mario Mandzukic, Rade Krunic, Pierre Kalulu, Samu Castillejo and Brahim Diaz, came on for Ante Rebic, Hakan Calhanoglu, Davide Calabria, Alexis Saelemaekers and Soualiho Meite. Sassuolo brought on Hamed Junior Traore, Giacomo Raspadori, Jeremy Toljan, Maxime Lopez and Lukas Haraslin, to replace Filip Djuricic, Gregoire Defrel, Mert Muldur, Pedro Obiang and Jeremie Boga.
