AC Milan eased past Genoa in a 2-1 victory on Sunday at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Milan were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Genoa, on the other hand, lost 3-1 in the last match they played against Juventus. After today’s result, Milan are in 2nd place on the table and has 66 points while Genoa sit in 14th with 32 points after 31 matches.
Milan started the first half well, with Ante Rebic finding the net after 13 minutes. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Mattia Destro equalised for The Griffin, 37 minutes in, which brought Davide Ballardini’s squad level at 1-1 at the half time break
Milan rallied after this and were rewarded, thanks to Gianluca Scamacca giving Rossoneri the lead, 68 minutes in. The game ended 2-1.
For Milan, Diogo Dalot, Mario Mandzukic, Brahim Diaz, Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunic, came on for Pierre Kalulu, Rafael Leao, Alexis Saelemaekers, Ismael Bennacer and Hakan Calhanoglu. Genoa brought on Davide Biraschi, Marko Pjaca, Eldor Shomurodov, Goran Pandev and Valon Behrami, to replace Paolo Ghiglione, Mattia Destro, Gianluca Scamacca, Francesco Cassata and Kevin Strootman.
The referee booked Edoardo Goldaniga for Genoa.
