New England Revolution strolled past New York with a 3-2 win on Sunday at Yankee Stadium. After today’s result, NYC are in 6th place on the table and has 11 points while Revs sit in 1st with 20 points after 11 matches.
Revs started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Bou at the 28 minute mark to see out the first half 0-1.
NYC took the initiative in the second half, with Andrade finding the net at the 56 minute mark. However, each side looked hungry to win and Revs then found the back of the net in the 78th minute thanks to Jon Bell, taking the score to 2-1. However, the good form didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from Ismael Tajouri in the 85th minute, brought The Pigeons level. In the end though, Revs just before the final whistle took the victory via a Mcnamara goal. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 3-2 to Revs.
For NYC, Andrade, Ismael Tajouri and Rodríguez, came on for Talles Magno, Castellanos and Moralez. Revs brought on Buchanan, Buksa, Henry Kessler and Caldwell, to replace Maciel, Traustason, Bou and Mcnamara.
There were bookings for Castellanos, Andrade and Sands from NYC, and Polster and Maciel, for Revs.
Revs and NYC will next play at home to New York Red Bulls and Atlanta United respectively.
