Atlanta 2 – Union 2: Mercedes-Benz Stadium sees frustrating draw

Atlanta were held to 2-2 draw by Union down on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Following today’s result, Atlanta are currently 8th with 11 points from 12 matches, while Union sit in 3rd, with 15 points from 12.

After an un-eventful first half,

Atlanta fought back the second half, with Przybyłko finding the net in the 58th minute. Atlanta looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Walkes, 83 minutes in to establish a 2-0. However, Union weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Burke at the 84 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Glesnes just before the final whistle to make it 2-2.

Atlanta brought on Franco, Mulraney and Conway for Franco Ibarra, López and Torres. Union brought on Burke, Jack Mcglynn and Real, to replace Santos, Fontana and Leon Flach.

There were bookings for López from Atlanta. For Union, Bedoya, Leon Flach, Fontana, Glesnes and Jamiro Monteiro saw yellow.
