Man Utd strolled past Newcastle with a 3-1 win on Sunday at Old Trafford. Manchester United arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion. Newcastle United were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Chelsea. As the table looks today, Manchester United are in 2nd place, with 49 points from 25 matches, while Newcastle United sit in 17th, with 25 points from 25.

Manchester United started strongly in the first half, beginning with Marcus Rashford opening the scoring, 30 minutes in. However, their lead was short lived, with an equalizer from a Allan Saint-Maximin in the 36th minute brought Newcastle United level, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

Manchester United continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, following a goal from Daniel James, 57 minutes in. Later, Manchester United took the lead with a goal form a goal from Bruno Fernandes, 75 minutes in, which sealed the victory for Manchester United.

Both managers used all available substitutions. For Man Utd, Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata and Shola Shoretire came on for Anthony Martial, Daniel James and Marcus Rashford, while Newcastle brought on Ryan Fraser, Jacob Murphy and Dwight Gayle to replace Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron.

There were bookings for Bruno Fernandes from Man Utd and Isaac Hayden and Joelinton for Newcastle.

Manchester United will next travel to Chelsea, while Newcastle United will face Wolverhampton Wanderers at home.
