Manchester United continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, following a goal from Daniel James, 57 minutes in. Later, Manchester United took the lead with a goal form a goal from Bruno Fernandes, 75 minutes in, which sealed the victory for Manchester United.

For Man Utd, Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata and Shola Shoretire came on for Anthony Martial, Daniel James and Marcus Rashford, while Newcastle brought on Ryan Fraser, Jacob Murphy and Dwight Gayle to replace Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron.
