Saint-Étienne strolled past Nice with a 1-0 win on Sunday at the Allianz Rivera. OGC Nice were looking to continue their run, following a 1-0 victory against Racing Lens. AS Saint-Étienne had lost their previous match against Olympique Lyonnais. As it stands, OGC Nice are in 13th place, with 26 points from 22 matches, while AS Saint-Étienne sit in 16th, with 22 points from 22.
After an uneventful first half, AS Saint-Étienne continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, beginning with a goal from Charles Abi just before the final whistle, sealing a resounding 1-0 victory for the away side.
Both managers used the full entitlement. For OGC Nice Alexis Claude-Maurice, Myziane Maolida and Dan Ndoye came on for Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Amine Gouiri and Robson Bambu, while Saint-Étienne brought on Lucas Gourna-Douath, Kevin Monnet-Paquet and Charles Abi to replace Yvan Neyou, Adil Aouchiche and Arnaud Nordin.
There were bookings for Robson Bambu and Hicham Boudaoui from Nice and Harold Moukoudi and Lucas Gourna-Douath for Saint-Étienne.
