Rennes on Friday lost to Nice on a home defeat at the Roazhon Park. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Rennes were looking to get back winning ways after losing 2-1 to Montpellier in their last match. Nice were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Metz. Following today’s result, Rennes and Nice currently occupy 8th and 12th spots in the table, with 38 points and 32 points respectively after 27 matches.

Nice started the game well, thanks to Amine Gouiri opening the scoring in the 19th minute. However, their lead was short lived, with an equalizer from a Martin Terrier in the 39th minute brought Rennes level. The first half ended 1-1.

Nice continued to apply pressure the second half and were rewarded, following a goal from Flavius Daniliuc in the 58th minute, sealing a resounding 2-1 victory for the away side.

For Rennes Benjamin Bourigeaud, Dalbert, Romain Del Castillo and Adrien Hunou came on for Eduardo Camavinga, Adrien Truffert, Martin Terrier and Clement Grenier, while Nice brought on Pierre Lees-Melou, Kephren Thuram Ulien and Robson Bambu to replace Hicham Boudaoui, Stanley N`Soki and Flavius Daniliuc.

The referee booked two players from Nice, Stanley N`Soki and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Rennes will next travel to Lyon, while Nice will face Nimes at home.
