Reims 1 – Angers 2: Le SCO jubilant after away win against The Red and Whites

Angers SCO snatched all three points from Reims in a 2-1 victory on Sunday, at the Stade Auguste Delaune. Reims were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches against Lyon away and Clermont Foot at home, by 2-1 and 1-0 respectively. Angers were beaten 3-1 in the previous match against AS Mónaco. As the table looks today, Reims are currently 14th with 19 points from 17 matches, while Angers sit in 7th, with 25 points from 17.

Following a goalless first half, Le SCO certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with an early penalty goal from Sofiane Boufal in the 49th minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Hugo Ekitike producing an equaliser in the 59th minute, bringing The Red and Whites level. In the end though, Angers at the 75 minute mark took the victory via a Angelo Fulgini goal and seeing the game end 2-1.

Both teams used all available substitutes. For Reims, Anastasios Donis, Alexis Flips and El Bilal Toure, came on for Thomas Foket, Andrew Gravillon and Dion Lopy, Angers brought on Mohamed-Ali Cho, Pierrick Capelle and Antonin Bobichon, to replace Stephane Bahoken, Souleyman Doumbia and Sofiane Boufal.

The referee booked seven players. Valon Berisha, Dion Lopy and Azor Matusiwa from Reims, who saw yellow cards and Valon Berisha (2 yellow cards), sent off with a red, as well as for Angers Sofiane Boufal, Ismael Traore and Souleyman Doumbia also seeing yellows.

Reims next face Saint-Étienne and Angers are at home to Clermont Foot.
