RCSA 0 – Marseille 2: The Phocaeans travel to the Stade de La Meinau and seal win

Olympique de Marseille defeat RC Strasburg 2-0 on Sunday at the Stade de La Meinau. RCSA were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two games against Nice away and Bordeaux at home, by 3-0 and 5-2 respectively. Marseille lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Brest. As the table looks today, RCSA are in 7th place, with 26 points from 18 matches, while Marseille sit in 2nd, with 32 points from 18.

After a goalless first half, Marseille continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Bamba Dieng, 62 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Duje Caleta-Car, 82 minutes in to make it 2-0.

For RCSA, Kevin Gameiro, Dimitri Lienard and Moise Sahi Dion, came on for Ibrahima Sissoko, Anthony Caci and Lucas Perrin. Marseille replaced Matteo Guendouzi, Cengiz Under, Gerson and Leonardo Balerdi with Pol Lirola, Bamba Dieng, Luis Henrique and Valentin Rongier.

There were bookings for Ludovic Ajorque and Gerzino Nyamsi from RCSA. For Marseille, Matteo Guendouzi saw yellow.

RCSA will next travel to Clermont Foot, while Marseille will face Reims at home.
