RCSA 5 – Bordeaux 2: Les Girondins sunk with 5 goals at the Stade de La Meinau

RC Strasburg defeat Bordeaux 5-2 on Wednesday at the Stade de La Meinau. RCSA wanted to continue adding points after a 1-1 draw against AS Mónaco. Bordeaux, on the other hand, lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Brest. Following today’s result, RCSA are currently 6th with 23 points from 16 matches, while Bordeaux sit in 18th, with 13 points from 16.

Les Girondins started strongly in the first half, with a goal from Hwang Ui-Jo after only 7 minutes. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Adrien Thomasson producing an equaliser in the 22nd minute, bringing RCSA level. The momentum was now with The Racers, who then scored again through a goal from Kevin Gameiro at the 43 minute mark to establish a 2-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Ludovic Ajorque made it 3-1 just before half-time, which saw the first half end 3-1.

The Racers started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from Dimitri Lienard in the 48th minute. However, Bordeaux weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Alberth Elis, 57 minutes in. In the end though, RCSA secured the points emphatically, with a 2nd effort from Ludovic Ajorque, 65 minutes in and seeing the game end 5-2.

For RCSA, Jean-Eudes Aholou, Jeanricner Bellegarde, Karol Fila, Moise Sahi Dion and Anthony Caci, came on for Adrien Thomasson, Sanjin Prcic, Frederic Guilbert, Kevin Gameiro and Dimitri Lienard. Bordeaux brought on Javairo Dilrosun, Mbaye Niang, Timothee Pembele, Jimmy Briand and Issouf Sissokho, to replace Yacine Adli, Hwang Ui-Jo, Remi Oudin, Alberth Elis and Jean Onana.

There were bookings for Sanjin Prcic and Alexander Djiku from RCSA. For Bordeaux, Enock Kwateng, Stian Gregersen and Alberth Elis saw yellow.

RCSA will next play Nice away, with Bordeaux facing Lyon at home.
