Lorient’s 3-2 win over PSG on Sunday, was hard fought at the Stade Yves Allainmat-Le Moustoir. Lorient were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 2-1 to FC Girondins de Bordeaux. Paris Saint-Germain were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Montpellier HSC and Angers SCO. As it stands, Lorient and Paris Saint-Germain are 18th, (18 points) and 2nd, (45 points), in the league respectively, after 22 matches.
The first half of the game started favourably for Lorient, with a goal from Laurent Abergel, 36 minutes in. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a Neymar just before half-time brought Paris Saint-Germain level, finalising the first half with a 1-1.
Paris Saint-Germain took the initiative in the second half, beginning with a new goal from Neymar, scoring his second goal in the 58th minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a goal from Yoane Wissa, 80 minutes in brought Lorient level. Later, Lorient took the lead with a goal form a goal from Terem Moffi in the 90th minute just before the final whistle, which sealed the victory for Lorient.
