Nice 2 – Lens 1: Victory denied for visitors as The Eagles win

RC Lens on away loss to Nice at Allianz Rivera on Wednesday. Nice were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Lens, on the other hand, were beaten 3-2 in the previous match against Nantes. Following today’s result, Nice are in 2nd place, with 33 points from 19 matches, while Lens sit in 9th, with 27 points from 19.

Lens started the game well, with a goal from Arnaud Kalimuendo at the 30 minute mark, finishing the first half 0-1.

The Eagles continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Mario Lemina finding the net, 63 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Justin Kluivert made it 2-1, 79 minutes in to make it 2-1.

For Nice, Morgan Schneiderlin and Andy Delort, came on for Mario Lemina and Kasper Dolberg. Lens brought on Ignatius Kpene Ganago and Corentin Jean, to replace Yannick Cahuzac and Jonathan Clauss.

The referee booked Massadio Haidara and Jonathan Gradit for Lens.

Nice will next travel to Brest, while Lens will face Rennes at home.
