Nantes beat RC Lens with a thumping 3-2 victory on Friday at the Stade de la Beaujoire. Nantes were looking to pick up points, following a 1-0 victory against FC Lorient. Lens, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Paris Saint-Germain. As things stand, Nantes are in 10th place on the table and has 25 points while Lens sit in 5th with 27 points after 18 matches.
The first half of the game started favourably for Blood and Gold, thanks to David Pereira Da Costa finding the net early in the first half. Lens then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Arnaud Kalimuendo, 15 minutes in, to take a 0-2 lead into half time.
The Yellow House started the second half with an intensified spirit, with an early goal from Randal Kolo Muani in the 49th minute. Nantes looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a 2nd effort from Randal Kolo Muani, 57 minutes in to establish a 2-2. They then extended the lead with a goal from Moses Simon just before the final whistle to make it 3-2.
For Nantes, Samuel Moutoussamy, Moses Simon, Marcus Coco and Dennis Appiah, came on for Wylan Cyprien, Willem Geubbels, Quentin Merlin and Randal Kolo Muani. Lens replaced Jean-Louis Leca, Arnaud Kalimuendo, David Pereira Da Costa and Massadio Haidara for Wuilker Farinez, Ignatius Kpene Ganago, Corentin Jean and Charles Boli.
There were bookings for Andrei, Ludovic Blas and Pedro Chirivella from Nantes, and Massadio Haidara, Jonathan Gradit and Facundo Medina, for Lens.
Lens and Nantes will next play away to Nice and Saint-Étienne respectively.
