Nantes 3 – Brest 1- The Pirates succumb to The Yellow House at the Stade de la Beaujoire

Nantes enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Brest at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Wednesday. Nantes were looking to pick up points, following a 4-1 victory against Angers SCO. Brest secured a point against Clermont Foot in their previous match. As it stands, Nantes and Brest currently occupy 6th and 18th spots in the league, with 10 points and 4 points respectively after 7 matches.

The Yellow House started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Ludovic Blas giving Nantes the lead in the 27th minute to see out the first half 1-0.

The Yellow House staged a comeback in the second half, thanks to Pedro Chirivella finding the net at the 55 minute mark. The momentum was now with Nantes, who then scored again through a goal from Lilian Brassier, at 58 minutes to establish a 3-0. In the end though, The Pirates pull-back in the 67th minute, with a goal from Jeremy Le Douaron and seeing the game end 3-1.

For Nantes, Willem Geubbels, Samuel Moutoussamy, Dennis Appiah, Marcus Coco and Quentin Merlin, came on for Kalifa Coulibaly, Ludovic Blas, Sebastien Corchia, Randal Kolo Muani and Pedro Chirivella. Brest brought on Steve Mounie, Jeremy Le Douaron, Rafiki Said and Youssouph Badji, to replace Lucien Agoume, Irvin Cardona, Franck Honorat and Haris Belkebla.

There were bookings for Jean-Charles Castelletto from Nantes. For Brest, Brendan Chardonnet and Lilian Brassier saw yellow.

Nantes will play their next fixture away against Reims, while Brest will face FC Metz at home.
