Montpellier 3 – Bordeaux 3- La Paillade unable to break dead-lock with Les Girondins

On Wednesday, Montpellier and Bordeaux were held to a 3-3 draw at the Stade de la Mosson. Montpellier were looking for a victory after a 1-1 draw against Troyes. Bordeaux, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Saint-Étienne. As the table looks today, Montpellier are in 7th place on the table and has 9 points while Bordeaux sit in 16th with 6 points after 7 matches.

Montpellier started the first half well, with Valere Germain giving La Paillade the lead in the 11th minute. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Hwang Ui-Jo managed to equalize and take the sides off in the 18th minute at 1-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Jean Onana at the 29 minute mark, finalising the first half 1-2.

Montpellier started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to an early second effort from Valere Germain in the 50th minute. La Paillade looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Florent Mollet in the 71st minute to establish a 3-2. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Samuel Kalu equalised for Bordeaux just before the final whistle. The game ended wih a 3-3 draw.

For Montpellier, Joris Chotard, Junior Sambia, Sepe Elye Wahi, Nicholas Gioacchini and Beni Makouana, came on for Leo Leroy, Arnaud Souquet, Jordan Ferri, Valere Germain and Stephy Mavididi. Bordeaux brought on Fransergio, Samuel Kalu, Remi Oudin, Sekou Mara and Mehdi Zerkane, to replace Jean Onana, Javairo Dilrosun, Yacine Adli, Timothee Pembele and Hwang Ui-Jo.

The referee booked Stian Gregersen and Sekou Mara for Bordeaux.

Montpellier will next travel to Paris Saint-Germain, while Bordeaux will face Rennes at home.
