Lyon vs. Clermont Foot

On Sunday, Lyon and Cleermont were held to a 3-3 draw at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais. Lyon arrived at the game looking pick up points after losing 3-0 to Angers SCO in their previous fixture whilst Cleermont were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Troyes and Bordeaux. As it stands, Lyon are in 13th place on the table and has 2 points while Cleermont sit in 2nd with 7 points after 3 matches.

The Kids started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to an early penalty goal from Moussa Dembele in the 5th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Sinaly Diomande in the 12th minute, brought Cleermont level. However, each side looked hungry to win and Lyon then found the back of the net at the 21 minute mark thanks to Moussa Dembele, taking the score to 2-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Lucas Paqueta just before half-time. The score at half time was 3-1.

Cleermont took the initiative in the second half, with Elbasan Rashani finding the net at the 80 minute mark. Cleermont then netted once more and found an equaliser thanks to a second effort from Elbasan Rashani just before the final whistle to make it 3-3.

For Lyon, Malo Gusto, Tino Kadewere, Thiago Mendes and Jason Denayer, came on for Leo Dubois, Lucas Paqueta, Bruno Guimaraes and Damien Da Silva. Cleermont brought on Salis Abdul Samed, Saif-Eddine Khaoui, Elbasan Rashani, Vital N’Simba and Jordan Tell, to replace Jonathan Iglesias, Jason Berthomier, Jim Allevinah, Arial Mendy and Jodel Dossou.

There were bookings for Bruno Guimaraes and Karl Toko Ekambi from Lyon. For Cleermont, Florent Ogier and Salis Abdul Samed saw yellow.

Lyon will next travel to Nantes, while Cleermont will face FC Metz at home.
