Lorient eased past St Etienne in a 2-1 victory on Sunday at the Stade Yves Allainmat. Lorient were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last game 4-1 to Lille. St Etienne, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Reims. As the table looks today, Lorient and St Etienne currently occupy 17th and 15th spots in the league, with 26 points and 30 points respectively after 27 matches.

St Etienne started strongly in the first half, beginning with a goal from Harold Moukoudi in the 14th minute. The score at half time was 1-0.

Lorient continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, thanks to Armand Lauriente opening the scoring, 66 minutes in. Later, Lorient scored again and turned the match thanks to a new goal from Armand Lauriente, scoring his second goal in the 86th minute just before the final whistle. The game ended with a 2-1 victory for Lorient.

For Lorient Fabien Lemoine, Armand Lauriente, Yoane Wissa and Adrian Grbic came on for Thomas Monconduit, Quentin Boisgard, Enzo Le Fee and Terem Moffi, while St Etienne brought on Aimen Moueffek, Charles Abi, Adil Aouchiche, Lucas Gourna-Douath and Maxence Rivera to replace Zaydou Youssouf, Anthony Modeste, Arnaud Nordin, Mahdi Camara and Aimen Moueffek.
