Lille see off Lorient 4-1 on Sunday at the Stade Yves Allainmat. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Lorient wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Monaco in their previous game while Lille secured a point against Brest in their previous match. As it stands, Lorient are currently 18th with 23 points from 26 matches, while Lille sit in 1st, with 58 points from 26.
Lille started well as, with Andrew Gravillon opening the rout in the 20th minute. However, they didn’t maintain the lead for long though, an equalizer from a goal from Jerome Hergault in the 23rd minute brought Lorient level. However, Lille in the 38th minute reestablished their lead following a Jose Fonte goal, finalising the first half with a 2-1.
Lille continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, with a goal from Jonathan Ikone, 59 minutes in. Later, Lille took the lead with a goal form a goal from Domagoj Bradaric in the 90th minute just before the final whistle. The game ended with a 4-1 victory for Lille.
For Lorient, Laurent Abergel, Thomas Monconduit, Armand Lauriente, Adrian Grbic and Quentin Boisgard came on for Jonathan David, Jonathan Bamba, Xeka and Jonathan Ikone, while Lille replaced Tim Weah, Yusuf Yazici, Renato Sanches and Domagoj Bradaric with Jonathan David, Jonathan Bamba, Xeka and Jonathan Ikone.
