Lens were held to 0-0 draw by Rennes down on Saturday at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Lens wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Marseille in their previous game. Rennes had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Lorient. As the table looks today, Lens and Rennes are 6th, (36 points) and 5th, (38 points), in the table respectively, after 24 matches.

For Lens, Simon Banza and Jonathan Clauss came on for Adrien Truffert and Martin Terrier, while Rennes brought on Faitout Maouassa and Jeremy Doku to replace Adrien Truffert and Martin Terrier.

There were bookings for Cheick Oumar Doucoure and Yannick Cahuzac from Lens and Hamari Traore, Eduardo Camavinga, Faitout Maouassa and Jonas Martin for Rennes.

Lens will next travel to Reims, while Rennes will face St Etienne at home.
