Metz 1 – Reims 1- Victory beyond reach for The Maroons at the Stade Saint Symphorien

FC Metz vs. Reims

Metz were held to 1-1 draw by Reims down on Sunday at the Stade Saint Symphorien. Metz were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last game 2-0 to Nantes. Reims, on the other hand, secured a point against Montpellier in their previous match. As the table looks today, Metz are in 13th place, with 2 points from 3 matches, while Reims sit in 11th, with 3 points from 3.

Reims started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Marshall Munetsi finding the net after only 7 minutes. However, their lead was short lived, as Habib Maiga equalised for Metz in the 14th minute, finalising the first half 1-1. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Metz, Pape Ndiaga Yade, Vagner, Thomas Delaine and Boubacar Traore, came on for Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly, Lamine Gueye, Pape Ndiaga Yade and Vincent Pajot. Reims brought on Nathanael Mbuku, Xavier Chavalerin and Hugo Ekitike, to replace Mathieu Cafaro, Moreto Cassama and Andrew Gravillon.

There were bookings for Dylan Bronn, Ibrahima Niane, Pape Matar Sarr and Vagner from Metz, and Thomas Foket and Andrew Gravillon, for Reims.

Metz will next travel to Clermont Foot, while Reims will face Paris Saint-Germain at home.
