Rennes eased past FC Lorient in a 2-0 victory on Sunday at the Stade Yves Allainmat. Lorient were looking forward to meeting again after losing 1-0 to Angers SCO in their last match. Rennes were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Montpellier and Lyon. Following today’s result, Lorient and Rennes currently occupy 15th and 2nd spots in the table, with 15 points and 28 points respectively after 15 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Rennes continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Gaetan Laborde at the 75 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Jeremy Doku made it 2-0 in the 78th minute to make it 2-0.

For Lorient, Dango Ouattara, Terem Moffi, Quentin Boisgard, Sambou Soumano and Theo Le Bris, came on for Adrian Grbic, Enzo Le Fee, Armand Lauriente, Houboulang Mendes and Thomas Monconduit. Rennes replaced Baptiste Santamaria, Jeremy Doku, Sehrou Guirassy, Lorenz Assignon and Birger Meling with Lovro Majer, Kamal-Deen Sulemana, Benjamin Bourigeaud, Hamari Traore and Martin Terrier.

The referee booked two players from Rennes, Lovro Majer and Jeremy Doku.

Lorient will next travel to Troyes, while Rennes will face Lille at home.
