Brest 2 – PSG 4: No home advantage for The Pirates as Les Parisiens win

Paris Saint-Germain eased past Brest in a 4-2 victory on Friday at the Stade Francis-Le Blé. Brest wanted to improve their league standing after a 1-1 draw against Rennes while PSG were coming from consecutive wins against RC Strasburg and Troyes. As the table looks today, Brest are in 12th place, with 2 points from 3 matches, while PSG sit in 1st, with 9 points from 3.

PSG started the first half well, thanks to Ander Herrera finding the net, at 23 minutes. Les Parisiens looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Kylian Mbappe at the 36 minute mark to establish a 2-0. The Pirates in turn, then responded just before half-time increasing their lead with an effort from Franck Honorat, which saw the first half end 1-2.

Les Parisiens continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Idrissa Gueye, 73 minutes in. However, Brest weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Steve Mounie, 85 minutes in. PSG in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Angel Di Maria. The final result, Brest 2, PSG 4.

Both teams used all available substitutes. For Brest, Hugo Magnetti, Jeremy Le Douaron and Jean-Kevin Duverne, came on for Haris Belkebla, Irvin Cardona and Ronael Pierre-Gabriel, PSG brought on Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria and Arnaud Kalimuendo to replace Marco Verratti, Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi.

There were bookings for Lilian Brassier from Brest, and Marco Verratti and Kylian Mbappe, for PSG.

PSG and Brest will next play away to Reims and RC Strasburg respectively.
