Bordeaux 0 – Marseille 1: The Phocaeans get valuable away win at the Matmut Atlantique Stadiums

Olympique de Marseille enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Bordeaux at the Matmut Atlantique Stadiums on Friday. Bordeaux were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 3-2 to Lille. Marseille, on the other hand, secured a point against Reims in their previous match. After today’s result, Bordeaux are currently 17th with 17 points from 20 matches, while Marseille sit in 2nd, with 36 points from 20.

The Phocaeans scored first, with Cengiz Under finding the net at the 37 minute mark and seeing the first half out 0-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-0.

For Bordeaux, Sekou Mara, Yacine Adli, Fransergio, Dilane Bakwa and Mbaye Niang, came on for Tom Lacoux, Remi Oudin, Issouf Sissokho, Javairo Dilrosun and Hwang Ui-Jo. Marseille replaced Amine Harit, Luis Henrique and Cengiz Under for Leonardo Balerdi, Konrad De La Fuente and Oussama Targhalline.

There were bookings for Issouf Sissokho from Bordeaux, and Pau Lopez, for Marseille.

Bordeaux will play away against Rennes, while Marseille will face Lille at home.
