Augsburg suffer a first loss against Hoffenheim in their first match of the new Bundesliga season. Today’s result, Augsburg are in 17th place on the table and has 1 point while Hoffenheim sit in 9th with 4 points after 1 match.

It was an impressive opening from Hoffenheim, with Jacob Bruun Larsen opening the rout in the 37th minute, to take a 0-1 lead into half time.

From Kraichgau region continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Sargis Adamyan finding the net, at 78 minutes. The momentum was now with Hoffenheim, who then scored again through a goal from Georginio Rutter, 87 minutes in to establish a 3-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Sebastian Rudy just before the final whistle with a final score of 4-0.

For Augsburg, Arne Maier, Daniel Caligiuri, Michael Gregoritsch, Mads Pedersen and Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee, came on for Jan Moravek, Andre Hahn, Fredrik Jensen, Iago and Ruben Vargas. Hoffenheim brought on Marco John, Sargis Adamyan, Mijat Gacinovic, Diadie Samassekou and Georginio Rutter for David Raum, Jacob Bruun Larsen, Munas Dabbur, Kevin Akpoguma and Christoph Baumgartner.

There were bookings for Jeffrey Gouweleeuw from Augsburg. For Hoffenheim, David Raum and Sebastian Rudy saw yellow.

In the second round of action in the Bundesliga Augsburg will play against Union Berlin away and Hoffenheim will play against Mainz at home.
