Monaco 3 – Bordeaux 0: Les Girondins lose in 5 star performance at the Stade Louis II

AS Mónaco ease to a comfortable 3-0 win at the Stade Louis II. Monaco were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Clermont Foot away and Saint-Étienne at home, by 3-1 and 3-1 respectively. Bordeaux were unable to beat Rennes in a 1-1 draw. After today’s result, Monaco and Bordeaux sit 6th, (14 points) and 16th, (7 points), in the league respectively, after 9 matches.

The Monégasques didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with Aurelien Tchouameni opening the rout, 35 minutes in. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Monaco staged a comeback in the second half, with an early goal from Aleksandr Golovin in the 48th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Wissam Ben Yedder made it 3-0 in the 64th minute to make it 3-0.

For Monaco, Sofiane Diop, Krepin Diatta, Myron Boadu, Benoit Badiashile and Youssouf Fofana, came on for Aleksandr Golovin, Gelson Martins, Wissam Ben Yedder, Axel Disasi and Aurelien Tchouameni. Bordeaux brought on Javairo Dilrosun, Alberth Elis, Sekou Mara, Mehdi Zerkane and Gideon Mensah for Otavio, Samuel Kalu, Timothee Pembele, Fransergio and Ricardo Mangas.

There were bookings for Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile from Monaco. For Bordeaux, Stian Gregersen saw yellow.

Monaco will next travel to Lyon, while Bordeaux will face Nantes at home.
