Angers 2 – Rennes 0- Le SCO triumph over The Rennais at the Stade Raymond Kopa

Angers enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Rennes at the Stade Raymond Kopa on Sunday. Angers were looking for a victory after a 1-1 draw against Bordeaux. Rennes were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Nantes in their last match. As the table looks today, Angers and Rennes currently occupy 1st and 8th spots in the league, with 10 points and 5 points respectively after 4 matches.

Following a goalless first half, Angers applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Sofiane Boufal at the 57 minute mark. Le SCO then netted again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Mohamed-Ali Cho just before the final whistle to make it 2-0.

For Angers, Pierrick Capelle, Azzedine Ounahi and Stephane Bahoken, came on for Sofiane Boufal, Thomas Mangani and Mohamed-Ali Cho. Rennes brought on Warmed Omari, Sehrou Guirassy, Eduardo Camavinga, Romain Del Castillo and Lovro Majer, to replace Matthis Abline, Martin Terrier, Kamal-Deen Sulemana, Flavien Tait and Benjamin Bourigeaud.

The referee booked Angelo Fulgini from Angers. Rennes had the worst of it though, with Loic Bade seeing yellow, and Loic Bade (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Angers will play their next fixture away against Brest, while Rennes will face Reims at home.
