Angers 1 – Monaco 3- Visitors deliver victory against Le SCO

Angers on home loss to AS Mónaco at the Stade Raymond Kopa on Wednesday. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Angers arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 2-2 draw against RC Lens. Monaco had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with RC Strasburg. As the table looks today, Angers and Monaco are 8th, (22 points) and 7th, (23 points), in the table respectively, after 16 matches.

The Monégasques dominated the first half, thanks to a goal from Myron Boadu, 25 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Sofiane Diop made it 2-0 just before half-time, to take a 0-2 lead into half time.

Angers staged a comeback in the second half, with a goal from Alexander Nubel in the 55th minute. In the end though, Monaco at the 73 minute mark increased their advantage following a Axel Disasi goal and seeing the game end 3-1.

For Angers, Batista Mendy, Mathias Pereira Lage, Stephane Bahoken, Pierrick Capelle and Casimir Ninga, came on for Thomas Mangani, Enzo Ebosse, Mohamed-Ali Cho, Angelo Fulgini and Sofiane Boufal. Monaco brought on Youssouf Fofana, Aleksandr Golovin, Ruben Aguilar, Wissam Ben Yedder and Wilson Isidor, to replace Kevin Volland, Sofiane Diop, Djibril Sidibe, Myron Boadu and Gelson Martins.

There were bookings for Thomas Mangani from Angers, and Djibril Sidibe and Kevin Volland, for Monaco.

Angers will next travel to Reims, while Monaco will face FC Metz at home.
