Necaxa 0 – Santos 3: Guerreros seal win as Los Rayos are left stunned

Necaxa lost their first match in the new Liga MX de Apertura season against Santos Laguna. Today’s result, Necaxa are in 18th place, with 0 points from 1 match, while Santos sit in 1st, with 3 points from 1.

Santos found the net first, with Juan Otero opening the rout at the 23 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Jesus Ocejo made it 2-0 just before half-time, to take a 0-2 lead into half time.

Guerreros continued to apply pressure in the second, with Diego Valdes finding the net, 57 minutes in, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

For Necaxa, Brian Garcia, Ruben Gonzalez, Alonso Escoboza, Maximiliano Salas, Luis Arcadio Garcia and Ruben Castellanos, came on for Luis Quintana, Vicente Poggi, Mauro Quiroga, Angel Sepulveda, Alan Medina and Edgar Hernandez. Santos brought on Brian Lozano, Ignacio Jeraldino, Jose Avila and Edgar Games, to replace Juan Otero, Jesus Ocejo, Diego Valdes and Fernando Gorriaran.

There were bookings for Vicente Poggi and Mauro Quiroga from Necaxa. For Santos, Jesus Ocejo and Felix Torres saw yellow.

In the second round of action in the Liga MX de Apertura Necaxa will play against América away and Santos will play against Cruz Azul at home.
