Levante celebrate 2-1 victory against Eibar

Levante defeat Eibar 2-1 on Sunday at Ciutat de Valencia. Levante were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 2-1 to Villarreal. Eibar had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-0 victory against Granada. Following today’s result, Levante and Eibar currently occupy 12th and 15th spots in the league, with 21 points and 19 points respectively after 18 matches.

After an uneventful first half, The second half started favourably for Eibar, thanks to a goal from Takashi Inui, 51 minutes in. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a goal from Gonzalo Melero in the 65th minute brought Levante level. Later, Levante scored again and turned the match thanks to a goal from Jose Luis Morales, 76 minutes in, sealing a resounding 2-1 victory for the home side.

For Levante Gonzalo Melero, Sergio Leon, Coke, Tono and Son came on for Dani Gomez, Mickael Malsa, Sergio Postigo, Roger Marti and Jorge De Frutos Sebastian, while Eibar replaced Kevin Rodrigues, Yoshinori Muto, Pedro Leon, Quique and Recio with Rafa Soares, Sergi Enrich, Alejandro Pozo, Edu Exposito and Takashi Inui.

The referee booked Mickael Malsa and Jose Luis Morales for Levante.

Levante will next play Cádiz away, with Eibar facing Atlético Madrid at home.
