Ipswich Town eased past Swindon Town in a 2-1 victory on Saturday at County Ground. Swindon Town were looking to get back winning ways after losing their last game 5-0 to Milton Keynes Dons. Ipswich Town, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with AFC Wimbledon. Following today’s result, Swindon Town and Ipswich Town currently occupy 23rd and 10th spots in the league, with 40 points and 65 points respectively after 45 matches.
It was an impressive opening from Ipswich Town, with a goal from James Norwood just before half-time, to take a 0-1 lead into half time.
Ipswich Town continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with James Norwood finding the net again in the 58th minute. In the end though, Swindon Town, 71 minutes in pull-back thanks to a Brett Pitman goal, leaving the final score at 2-1.
Swindon Town will next travel to Wigan Athletic, while Ipswich Town will face Fleetwood Town at home.
