Blackpool snatched all three points from Sunderland AFC in a 1-0 victory on Tuesday, at Stadium of Light. Sunderland AFC wanted to improve their league standing after a 3-3 draw against Accrington Stanley whilst Blackpool were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Shrewsbury Town. As the table looks today, Sunderland AFC are currently 4th with 73 points from 5 matches, while Blackpool sit in 5th, with 71 points from 5.

After a goalless first half, Blackpool continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Sulaiman Kaikai finding the net at the 56 minute mark, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

For Sunderland AFC, Ross Stewart, Carl Winchester and Jordan Jones, came on for Sulaiman Kaikai and Grant Ward. Blackpool brought on Demetri Mitchell and Kevin Stewart, to replace Sulaiman Kaikai and Grant Ward.

There were bookings for Aiden McGeady from Sunderland AFC. For Blackpool, Danny Ballard saw yellow.

Blackpool and Sunderland AFC will next play away to Northampton Town and Plymouth Argyle respectively.
