On Saturday, Bolton Wanderers suffer an away defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough Stadium. SWFC were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Oxford United whilst Bolton Wanderers were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Shrewsbury Town and Charlton Athletic. As the table looks today, both teams are on 18 points and sit in 9th and 8th places respectively after 12 matches.

After a goalless first half, SWFC applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Lee Gregory, 66 minutes in. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 1-0.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For SWFC, Dennis Adeniran, Cheyenne Dunkley and Olamide Shodipo, came on for Lewis Gibson, Sam Hutchinson and Jaden Brown, Bolton Wanderers brought on Amadou Bakayoko, Joshua Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove, to replace Eoin Doyle, Antoni Sarcevic and Elias Kachunga.

There were bookings for Dominic Iorfa and Olamide Shodipo from SWFC. For Bolton Wanderers, Gethin Jones and Oladapo Afolayan saw yellow.

SWFC will next travel to AFC Wimbledon, while Bolton Wanderers will face Wigan Athletic at home.
