Rotherham 2 – Plymouth Argyle 0- The Millers deliver decisive win at the AESSEAL New York Stadium

Rotherham United started on the right in the new League One season with victory against Plymouth Argyle. Today’s result, Rotherham are in 1st place on the table and has 3 points while Plymouth Argyle sit in 24th with 0 points after 1 match.

The Millers started the first half well, thanks to a goal from Freddie Ladapo, 10 minutes in. Rotherham then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Ben Wiles, 38 minutes in to secure a 2-0 win. Both teams struggled to produce anything in the second half and the game ended 2-0.

Both managers used the full entitlement. For Rotherham, Oliver Rathbone, Hakeem Odofin and Shane Ferguson, came on for Daniel Barlaser, Ben Wiles and Mikel Miller, Plymouth Argyle brought on Ryan Broom, Adam Randell and Rhys Shirley, to replace Danny Mayor, Conor Grant and Luke Jephcott.

The referee booked Daniel Barlaser and Jamie Lindsay for Rotherham.

In the second round of action in the League One Rotherham will play against Wigan Athletic away and Plymouth Argyle will play against Gillingham FC at home.
