Rotherham 2 – Fleetwood Town 4- Visitors steal the show at the AESSEAL New York Stadium

Fleetwood Town eased past Rotherham United in a 4-2 victory on Saturday at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. Rotherham were looking to continue their run after winning last match. Fleetwood Town, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Plymouth Argyle. As it stands, Rotherham and Fleetwood Town currently occupy 13th and 17th spots in the league, with 9 points and 7 points respectively after 7 matches.

Fleetwood Town started the game well, thanks to Callum Morton finding the net at the 24 minute mark. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Michael Smith at the 38 minute mark brought Rotherham level. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a penalty goal from Kieran Sadlier just before half-time, which saw the first half end 2-1.

Fleetwood Town started the second half with an intensified spirit, with a goal from Gerard Garner in the 54th minute. The momentum was now with Fleetwood Town, who then scored again through a goal from Danny Andrew, at 61 minutes to establish a 3-2. However they weren’t finished yet and Callum Camps made it 4-2 at the 69 minute mark to make it 4-2.

Both teams used all available substitutes. For Rotherham, Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Daniel Barlaser and Will Grigg, came on for Richard Wood, Oliver Rathbone and Jamie Lindsay, Fleetwood Town brought on Max Clark, Paddy Lane and Ryan Edmondson to replace Darnell Johnson, Tom Clarke and Callum Morton.

The referee booked Max Clark, James Hill and Jordan Rossiter for Fleetwood Town.
