Portsmouth FC 2 – Plymouth Argyle 2: Honours even at Fratton Park

On Tuesday, Portsmouth FC and Plymouth Argyle were held to a 2-2 draw at Fratton Park. Portsmouth FC were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Cambridge Utd whilst Plymouth Argyle were coming from consecutive wins against AFC Wimbledon and Sheffield Wednesday. As the table looks today, Portsmouth FC and Plymouth Argyle sit 12th and 4th places with 11 points and 15 points respectively.

Portsmouth FC started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to an early goal from Lee Brown in the 5th minute, which saw the first half end 1-0.

Plymouth Argyle started the second half with an intensified spirit, with an early goal from Ryan Hardie in the 48th minute. The momentum was now with Plymouth Argyle, who then scored again through a 2nd effort from Ryan Hardie, at 80 minutes to establish a 2-1. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Sean Raggett equalised for Portsmouth FC just before the final whistle. The game ended wih a 2-2 draw.

For Portsmouth FC, Recco Hackett-Fairchild, came on for Lee Brown.

There were bookings for Sean Raggett, Ronan Curtis and Marcus Harness from Portsmouth FC. For Plymouth Argyle, Conor Grant, Joe Edwards and Jordan Houghton saw yellow.

Portsmouth FC will next travel to Charlton Athletic, while Plymouth Argyle will face Doncaster Rovers at home.
