Accrington Stanley defeat Portsmouth FC 1-0 on Sunday at Fratton Park. Portsmouth FC were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Accrington Stanley had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Charlton Athletic. This left, Portsmouth FC and Accrington Stanley sit 8th (72 points) and 11th (67 points) in the table respectively, after a total of 46 matches.

Accrington Stanley dominated the first half, thanks to Adam Phillips giving Accrington Stanley the lead at the 23 minute mark and the first half ended 0-1. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Portsmouth FC, Harvey White, George Byers, Jordy Hiwula-Mayifuila and Charlie Daniels, came on for Callum Johnson, Ben Close, Paul Downing and Ryan Williams. Accrington Stanley brought on Tom Scully, to replace Jonathan Russell.

There were bookings for Marcus Harness, Paul Downing, George Byers and Harvey White from Portsmouth FC, and Harvey Rodgers, for Accrington Stanley.
