Plymouth Argyle fell to a home defeat at the hands of Sunderland AFC at Home Park on Saturday. Plymouth Argyle were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Oxford United. Sunderland AFC, on the other hand, secured a point against Accrington Stanley in their previous match. As the table looks today, Plymouth Argyle are in 18th place on the table and has 53 points while Sunderland AFC sit in 3rd with 76 points after 45 matches.

Sunderland AFC started strongly in the first half, thanks to Ross Stewart giving Sunderland AFC the lead, 21 minutes in. The score at half time was 0-1.

Plymouth Argyle took the lead in the second half, with Joe Edwards finding the net, on 63 minutes. However, each side looked hungry to win and Sunderland AFC then found the back of the net, 84 minutes in thanks to Chris Maguire, taking the score to 2-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Denver Hume made it 3-1 just before the final whistle to make it 3-1.

Plymouth Argyle will next travel to Gillingham FC, while Sunderland AFC will face Northampton Town at home.
