Plymouth Argyle 1 – Cambridge 1: Points shared at Home Park after draw

On Tuesday, Plymouth Argyle and Cambridge were held to a 1-1 draw at Home Park. Plymouth Argyle arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town in their previous game whilst Cambridge were coming from consecutive wins against Bolton Wanderers and Burton Albion. After today’s result, both teams are on 8 points and occupy 12th and 10th places respectively after 3 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Plymouth Argyle took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Luke Jephcott at the 68 minute mark. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Joe Ironside equalised for Cambridge at the 76 minute mark. The final result, Plymouth Argyle 1, Cambridge 1.

Both managers used all substitutions. For Plymouth Argyle, Ryan Law, Adam Randell and Rhys Shirley, came on for Conor Grant, Luke Jephcott and Jordan Houghton, Cambridge brought on Harrison Dunk, Sam Smith and Jensen Weir, to replace Greg Taylor, Shilow Tracey and Adam May.

There were bookings for James Wilson and Joe Edwards from Plymouth Argyle, and George Williams, Adam May, James Brophy, Liam O’Neil and Paul Digby, for Cambridge.
