Oxford United 4-0 Burton Albion – Oxford United on fire, scoring 4 without reply at Kassam Stadium

Oxford United earn hard-fought win over Burton Albion 4-0 on Sunday at Kassam Stadium. Oxford United were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches against Shrewsbury Town away and Plymouth Argyle at home, by 3-2 and 3-1 respectively. Burton Albion secured a point against Gillingham FC in their previous match. This left, Oxford United and Burton Albion are 6th (74 points) and 16th (57 points) in the league respectively, after a total of 46 matches.

Oxford United started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Olamide Shodipo opening the rout at the 10 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Matty Taylor made it 2-0 at the 28 minute mark, ending the first half 2-0.

Oxford United continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Elliott Lee finding the net at the 57 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Sam Winnall just before the final whistle to make it 4-0.

For Oxford United, Jamie Hanson, Daniel Agyei, Anthony Forde, Sam Winnall and Alex Gorrin, came on for Sam Long, Olamide Shodipo, James Henry, Matty Taylor and Elliott Lee.
