Morecambe FC 1 – SWFC 0: The Owls unable to avoid away defeat

Morecambe FC snatched all three points from Sheffield Wednesday in a 1-0 victory on Saturday, at Globe Arena. Morecambe FC were looking to get back their winning ways after losing 2-1 to Gillingham FC in their previous fixture whilst SWFC were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Rotherham United and Fleetwood Town. As the table looks today, Morecambe FC are in 14th place, with 7 points from 5 matches, while SWFC sit in 2nd, with 10 points from 5.

After a goalless first half, Morecambe FC piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Dennis Adeniran giving Morecambe FC the lead, 63 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Both managers used allfull available substitutions. For Morecambe FC, Adam Phillips, Ryan Delaney and Liam Gibson, came on for Alfie John McCalmont, Courtney Duffus and Greg Leigh, SWFC brought on Theodor Corbeanu, Florian Kamberi and Lewis Wing to replace Callum Paterson, Jaden Brown and Dennis Adeniran.

There were bookings for Shane McLoughlin and Ryan Cooney from Morecambe FC. For SWFC, George Byers saw yellow.

Morecambe FC will play their next fixture away against Crewe Alexandra, while SWFC will face Sunderland AFC at home.
