Morecambe FC 0 – Rotherham 1- Visitors at Globe Arena secure victory

Morecambe FC fell to a home defeat at the hands of Rotherham United at Globe Arena on Tuesday. Morecambe FC had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning last match. Rotherham lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Wigan Athletic. Following today’s result, Morecambe FC and Rotherham are 11th, (4 points) and 6th, (6 points), in the table respectively, after 3 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Rotherham continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Michael Smith giving The Millers the lead, at 60 minutes. The final result, Morecambe FC 0, Rotherham 1.

Morecambe FC brought on Adam Phillips, Wes McDonald and Shayon Harrison for Shane McLoughlin, Arthur Gnahoua and Josh McPake. Rotherham brought on Richard Wood, Joe Mattock and Kieran Sadlier, to replace Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Shane Ferguson and Joshua Kayode.

There were bookings for Jokull Andresson and Ryan Cooney from Morecambe FC, and Joe Mattock and Michael Smith, for Rotherham.

Morecambe FC will play their next fixture away against Gillingham FC, while Rotherham will face Sheffield Wednesday at home.
