Ipswich Town were held to 2-2 draw by AFC Wimbledon down on Saturday at Portman Road Stadium. Ipswich Town were looking for a victory following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Milton Keynes Dons in their previous game. AFC Wimbledon, on the other hand, had lost their previous match against Sunderland AFC. Following today’s result, Ipswich Town and AFC Wimbledon currently occupy 21st and 15th spots in the league, with 3 points and 6 points respectively after 5 matches.
After a goalless first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Ipswich Town who started the second half well, with Joe Pigott finding the net, 52 minutes in. The momentum was now with Ipswich Town, who then scored again through a goal from Wes Burns, 54 minutes in to establish a 2-0. However, AFC Wimbledon weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Ben Heneghan at the 58 minute mark. AFC Wimbledon then netted again and snatched an equaliser thanks to a goal from Jack Rudoni just before the final whistle to make it 2-2.
Ipswich Town will next travel to Wycombe Wanderers, while AFC Wimbledon will face Oxford United at home.
