Gillingham FC 2 – Morecambe FC 1: Visitors leave Mems Priestfield Stadium empty handed

Morecambe FC on away loss to Gillingham FC at Mems Priestfield Stadium on Saturday. Gillingham FC wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 1-1 draw with AFC Wimbledon in their previous game. Morecambe FC, on the other hand, were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Rotherham United. As it stands, Gillingham FC are in 15th place on the table and has 5 points while Morecambe FC sit in 16th with 4 points after 4 matches.

Gillingham FC started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to an early goal from Mustapha Carayol in the 4th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Cole Stockton equalised for Morecambe FC at the 25 minute mark, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

Gillingham FC continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Vadaine Oliver at the 79 minute mark, leaving the final score at 2-1.
