Gillingham FC 1 – Lincoln City 1: Points shared at Mems Priestfield Stadium after draw

Gillingham FC plays a 1-1 draw at the beginning of a new League One season against Lincoln City. Today’s result, leave both teams on 1 point and sitting in 14th and 15th positions respectively, after their first match.

Lincoln City started strongly in the first half, with an early goal from Tayo Edun in the 4th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Danny Lloyd equalised for Gillingham FC just before half-time, to take a 1-1 lead into half time. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-1 at full time.

For Gillingham FC, Mustapha Carayol, Ben Reeves and Gerald Sithole, came on for Danny Lloyd, Olly Lee and Stuart O’Keefe. Lincoln City brought on Hakeeb Adelakun and Teddy Bishop, to replace Cohen Bramall and Lasse Sorensen.
