Charlton Athletic’s 2-1 win over Fleetwood Town on Saturday, was hard fought at Highbury Stadium. Fleetwood Town wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 3-3 draw with Milton Keynes Dons in their previous game. Charlton Athletic, on the other hand, were beaten 4-1 in the previous match against Bolton Wanderers. As the table looks today, Fleetwood Town and Charlton Athletic sit 20th, (10 points) and 21st, (9 points), spots respectively, after 11 matches.
Charlton Athletic started the first half well, thanks to Jonathan Leko giving Charlton Athletic the lead just before half-time. The score at half time was 0-1.
Fleetwood Town started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with a goal from Danny Andrew at the 51 minute mark. Charlton Athletic in turn, then responded at the 69 minute mark increasing their lead with an effort from Jayden Stockley and seeing the game end 2-1.
Both managers used the full entitlement. For Fleetwood Town, Daniel Batty, Joe Garner and Ryan Edmondson, came on for Jay Matete, Callum Camps and Harrison Biggins, Charlton Athletic brought on Jayden Stockley, Corey Blackett-Taylor and Sean Clare, to replace Josh Davison, Charlie Kirk and Harry Arter.
There were bookings for Danny Andrew and Tom Clarke from Fleetwood Town, and Jonathan Leko and Alex Gilbey, for Charlton Athletic.
