Cambridge 2 – Fleetwood Town 2- Points shared at Abbey Stadium after draw

Cambridge were held to 2-2 draw by Fleetwood Town down on Saturday at Abbey Stadium. Cambridge were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against Portsmouth FC. Fleetwood Town are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As the table looks today, Cambridge are in 12th place, with 12 points from 9 matches, while Fleetwood Town sit in 18th, with 9 points from 9.

Fleetwood Town started the first half well, with an early goal from James Hill in the 2nd minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Adam May equalised for Cambridge, 35 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-1.

Cambridge started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to Shilow Tracey finding the net, 51 minutes in. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Paddy Lane equalised for Fleetwood Town in the 76th minute, leaving the final score at 2-2.

For Cambridge, Sam Smith, came on for Adam May. Fleetwood Town brought on Joe Garner, Paddy Lane and Christopher Conn-Clarke, to replace Ryan Edmondson, Max Clark and Harrison Biggins.

The referee booked Paul Digby for Cambridge.

Cambridge will play their next fixture at home against Gillingham FC, while Fleetwood Town will face Milton Keynes Dons away.
